Brandon and I spent Easter weekend in Coldwater, MI with his family. We love driving around and seeing the surrounding small towns, which I find completely enthralling.
We stopped in Allen the “Anitque Capital of the World”, an adorable little village we passed while cruising down US-12. Unfortunately for us the myriad of antique stores in the village were either closed for Easter Sunday or hadn’t opened for the season yet, but we took a walk around the village enjoying the picturesque historic architecture, and perusing the windows of antique shops.
We found a lovely hole-in-the-wall bookstore. It was quite literally a hole-in-the-wall, with shelves built into what appeared to be someone’s shed. There were no sales attendants, just a sign asking visitors to leave 35 cents for a book, or a dollar for three.
